Both palm wax and soy wax are made from all natural ingredients - one from the oil of soy beans, the other from the oil of palm leaves of a particular type of palm grown in Malaysia.
Soy wax is extremely soft and creamy, both in look and feel. For this reason soy containers burn very completely (assuming the container has the appropriate size wick), leaving very little if any residue on the side of the container and can actually be burned down to the point where there is almost no wax left.
For palm wax containers to burn well it is extremely important to have the correct size wick. Because the wax is so hard, it needs a larger wick than soy candles, and even then it is not likely that it will burn totally cleanly off the sides of the container, and cannot or rather will not, burn down to empty.
Although palm wax is very hard, with a much higher burning point than either paraffin or soy, it feels surprisingly soft to the touch. Hold one of Happy Moments Candle palm wax candles in your hands and it feels much like peach fuzz. Now turn it and notice how the light plays off the different patterns formed by the crystallizing. Compare it to another Happy Moments Candle palm wax candle. No two are the same; each has its own unique patterns. It is the property of the wax, influenced by the temperature at which the wax is poured, the cooling time (basically the longer the better), fragrance, and dye. As the wax is very hard, once the fragrance is absorbed it remains for a very long time. Although both soy and palm wax candles "throw" fragrance extremely well, both when cold and when burning, palm wax candles keep much longer than soy wax ones.
Because of the higher melting point of palm wax (131° - 136°) than paraffin (95° - 100°), palm wax candles burn more slowly and more cleanly than paraffin wax candles. Our palm wax candles are made from all natural ingredients, including all cotton wicks, giving a better burn. You won’t get soot marks on your walls or ceilings with our palm and soy wax candles provided you follow the burning instructions. Our testing shows that palm wax candles burn at least 50% longer than paraffin candles although some burn as much as twice as long.
Happy Moments Candle has a larger range of soy and palm wax candles in various shapes and sizes than you will find from other producers. Because soy wax is softer than either paraffin or palm wax, soy pillars generally cannot be more than 6" in height. We also have a growing variety of container soy & palm candles in unique shapes and sizes, including our very popular travel tins. Travel tins come in 4 oz. and 6 oz. sizes, and also 8 oz. size in our pure soy essential oil aromatherapy range, all perfect for fitting in a purse, travel bag, suitcase, or as a small gift for family or friends.
We believe you will love our candles!
